Privacy
During my research and posting of some of my material on this site, the question of people's privacy has arisen occasionally over the last 16 years. To make my standards clear and understandable, I decided to included this page.
First, if you are listed on this site and wish to have your name removed, please email me and I will abide by your wishes.
I have strived to only post only the barest of information on living individuals. Mainly their name and who the parents are. I will never post social security numbers of deceased individuals. If you look in the reports, they are x'd out. I include living individuals for family members to see where they fall in the family tree. I have made some great strides in research when I have been contacted by other researchers because of what I do post. That is the second biggest reason I maintain that site.
Genealogy has taken off immensely over the last couple of years. With the advent of the Internet, more and more people are doing some sort of research. The discussion of proper research, documentation I will leave to the discussion groups. I feel anyone who has an interest is welcome. I personally have amassed more documentation then I ever thought possible. I use a four "family group" system. For the people who don't want to, that is fine also.
Like all family trees, I also have "Black Sheep", birthdates before marriages, etc., in mine also. I have that information on file, but will never post it on any living individual. When I am contacted by "cousins" and asked for a printout for them. I only send a filtered report on their immediate ancestors only.
Qualified researchers, who with time that I feel comfortable with and have demonstrated sound ethics, I will share a little more data with. But, never sensitive material.
